 Mr. Theron Sampson, Principal

Hello and welcome to the home of the Dolphins!

Welcome back for another wonderful year at Swansboro Elementary School! It is an honor to have the opportunity to work with the students, parents, and staff of Swansboro Elementary School and the Swansboro Community for the 2022 - 2023 school year. This year will be filled with learning new skills, fun activities and working together as we fulfill our theme, “Succesfully Educating Students" (S.E.S.). Although teaching and learning will continue to look different this year due to COVID-19, rest assured I am here to serve, collaborate, and lead you to ensure student success and safety. Many exciting things are happening at Swansboro Elementary that will undoubtedly positively impact student growth and achievement. For the past thirteen years, I have enjoyed the privilege of working with students as a qualified mental health professional, special education teacher, exceptional education lead, administrative aide, community outreach liaison, assistant principal, interim principal and currently principal. I am honored and enthusiastic to have the privilege to work with such a great learning community.

My primary objective as the principal is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all students to improve academically through the excellent instruction and the numerous activities available to them. My educational philosophy is that every student deserves to be educated in a safe, consistent, nurturing learning environment with highly qualified staff. I will help children reach their potential academically and socially while investing in their dreams.

As a strategy to promote our targeted growth, our faculty help to set their own academic goals. Action steps needed to reach these goals staff and students continually track and monitor their progress throughout the year. Teachers meet with stakeholders frequently to review the data and provide the necessary support to help students meet their goals. We reflect on our goals and celebrate our successes along the way. Our students and staff have a "Swansboro Family" attitude. Swansboro Family represents the positive collaboration that will take place to develop our students academically, mentally, and socially while meeting state standards. With our "Swansboro Family" attitude at Swansboro, we create success through hard work, respect, resiliency, and learning every day.

If you have a concern, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. Not only am I here to nurture and educate students, but also to offer support to our student's parents. Please feel free to follow me on Twitter, view updated information posted on our school website, call, or visit me at school. When posting the great things happening through Swansboro, I ask that you use the hashtag #SwansboroFamily. Let us show the World the incredible teaching, learning, and development taking place within the walls of Swansboro.

I look forward to meeting many of you during our upcoming school events and meetings. Go, Swansboro Dolphins!

Sincerely,

Theron C. Sampson, Principal
